Audra K.Eisine and Dan Banazek Beautiful Wedding
While surprises are nice, sometimes what you want is for everything to just go as planned. For Audra and Dan, that wish came true. With good friend and professional event planner and caterer Marcus Ford (of The X Factor) and Deborah Wisenhouse (of Art of Imagination) overseeing all the details, the result was exactly what the couple wanted. From the delicious food and their signature drink —the Dandra, a little Dan and a little Audra—to decorating the bar room with hanging candelabras and leopard print table clothes and pillows, Marcus created a night of beauty and calm.
I absolutely loved the mansion. The beautiful building and the idea of customizing your event is truly unique. For my wedding i had the time of my life. The owner, Cera, was extremely nice and very helpful. She walked us through the entire setup and she recommended amazing vendors. When i saw the final product, i was amazed. That was the most beautiful event i ever saw. I highly recommend Stan Mansion for your next event.

I worked with Cera at the Stan Mansion to create the dream wedding reception.
My husband and I were on the verge of canceling even having a reception because we could not find a nice venue that we could afford. The Stan Mansion allowed us the flexibility to bring in any vendor of our choosing, allowing us to save THOUSANDS in liquor and food costs. The ambiance was easy to create because the building has so much character.
We had a beach themed reception for 200 people a week ago. We are still being asked how we ever found this place and complemented on the lighting, the bar set up, and the ease of valet parking.
Cera was just wonderful to work with. She was so helpful in recommending some of the most professional and easy to work with vendors. She also provided so many great recommendations at times it was like having a wedding planner.
I just love this venue and highly recommend it to anyone looking to host a unique and once-in-a-lifetime experience.
***** JH "Not a wedding..." 05/09/2009
Stan Mansion, and Cera in particular, were the highlight of our wedding-vendor experience. I do not usually give perfect scores, but there is nothing else I could possibly do in this case: Stan Mansion was perfect.
We had a very non-traditional, queer not-a-wedding ceremony, with a completely unique ceremony and reception. Cera not only handled all of our requests and needs beautifully, she was excited and supportive and fantastic to work with. She understood our budget, worked with us to find vendors who could do what we wanted at a price we could afford, suggested caterers and resources, and helped us when any of those relationships were difficult.
We cannot recommend this venue highly enough. Our ceremony was gorgeous, our reception perfect, our guests enchanted, and our not-a-wedding the most remarkable day of our lives.
Thank you Stan Mansion and Cera for being so utterly perfect!
***** 12/05/2008 Maria 25th Anniversary
I absolutely loved the mansion. Cera was so helpful in providing ideas and solutions on such short notice. The ability to customize the mansion is one of the things that most attracted me to this location. Typically, with most banquet halls, the decor is decided for you. Using the mansion, you are given a clear canvas with which you can be as creative as you'd like. I celebrated a 25th anniversary and had the time of my life.

The Stan Mansion (...) provided several venues for the reception: a beautiful courtyard for socializing and cocktails outdoors, a foyer with candle lit stairs going up to the second floor, where there is a small bar room and a giant ballroom. Added drama was created with gorgeout draping supplied by Deborah from Art of Imagination, Chicago. In the hall, she used lights behind sheer fabric which gave the room a starlight quality.

Erected in the height of Logan Square's rise to the "Emerald Necklace" of the city status, when the tree was just as important as the brick, the Stan Mansion is a garden-gated, 20,000-square-foot castle, built in 1921 to house Masonic meetings for the rich and powerful associated with the new order of the Knights Templar.
Over the decades it's seen a couple re-purposings, even an actual home at one point, and is now owned by entrepreneur Cera Stan, who was quick to offer the elegance to any avenue she could. Weddings and banquets were first in line, taking advantage of two auditoriums and stages. Then came fitness and martial arts classes. Really, anybody can rent out the space for anything.
Which is why the Empty Bottle booking team has now added it to its fleet of alternative venues, paired perfectly with the parachute-shrouded loft of the AV-Aerie and the Epiphany Church. Shows are usually dry, per the mostly all-ages ticket, but it comes with the historic territory. And it's not every day you can strut in the ballroom of an old mansion to the latest in indie buzz.

In Logan Square, luxurious special-event venue

Encompassing over 20,000 square feet, the three story mansion contains banquet rooms, large party spaces, and two auditoriums with stages. There are catering amenities on site and parking arrangements can be made for large gatherings. Spaces are rented out based on availability with flexible daily rates; month-to-month and long-term leases are also available. Formerly a Masonic temple, Stan Mansion was designed by architect Moritz F. Stranch and built and 1921. It is located in Logan Square, one of the oldest neighborhoods in Chicago. When the city was incorporated in 1837, city planners wanted to reflect the motto "Urbs in Horto," pr "City Set in a Garden." As a result, Logan Square became enriched with large, tree-lined boulevards and parks, as well as some of the city's most magnificent homes and mansions, and is now referred to as the "Emerald Necklace of Chicago." Originally settled by wealthy Eastern European immigrants, the neighborhood's architecture reflects the diverse and eclectic backgrounds of those who developed and lived in the area. Stan Mansion's own castle-like facade and elegant grounds provide a prime example of the rich authenticity achieved by the city's early architects and designers.

Wedding Reception Recon: Stan Mansion
October 15, 2008
In our continuing search for a wedding reception location, yesterday Liz and I had an appointment to take a look around Stan Mansion. Located in Logan Square, it's only a few blocks away from where we live, and based on the photos on the site... looked pretty enticing.
We met with a very nice woman named Cera, who talked a bit about how the mansion runs its special events, and found out a lot of good things. Most places require that you use a caterer off of a "preferred vendor" list. And some caterers/venues also require some kind of minimum, when it comes to either food or drink (at the zoo, there was a $5,000 minimum for liquor if your event was to be held on a Friday or Saturday night).
Stan mansion has no preferred vendor list, and no minimums of any kind. In fact, it's permissible for us to bring our own beer/liquor, so long as the caterer we pick has a license and is willing to serve our alcohol. I haven't done the math on this just yet, but from what I've seen so far... this is a pretty huge thing, in terms of us possibly saving some money.
I'm not adding a ton of commentary here. Mostly, these pics are more for our (future) reference. We came in on a decent day, as they were setting up the place a bit for an event the next day... so a lot of lighting was being set up in advance.
